It seems the field to adjust the “Create new…” button is not working.
Can someone on team confirm if the “Alternate Item Name” field should be working or not?

Hi @James. The alternate naming only comes into play when you have nested/grouped module setup where the drop down is present, eg:
Standard module setups just have a ‘Create New’ button.

Yeah, I know what you’r saying. But I guess the wording is not needed as it’s implied that you’re creating a new item for that module…?
Else it might just be an extra step to click on a dropdown when only one option will be available. Or if labelling the button with the alternate wording it might get very long or break the UI.
Good point about breaking the UI… I guess because I saw how it worked in Umbraco it may be a thing to update the button label to make it more a customized experience. All good
