Hey guys!

Just wondering how easy it would be to create the estimator tool (calculator) on the link above with treepl’s forms.

Would I be better with a 3rd party calculator?

Calculations like this would be done using javascript, so it depends on your knowledge of javascript and how complex the formula is for the calculation.

Also need to consider what you want to do with the form after calculation (if anything), such as submitting it as part of a larger Treepl form, or custom module item, mailing list, etc.

But if there’s a 3rd party plugin that does everything you need, that might be a nice easy option too.

I thought you were going to say there is a magic form builder that does all the js for you!
I will see what the client wants to do as I’m sure if I tell them there is a cost for my pain and misery working with js they might let me off.

You could tell your client that you’d need a js specialist to write the code for that sort of functionality and you could obtain a quote (eg from Treepl). When you receive the quote, then add your ‘time & suffering’ to it when you inform your client about the cost.
