@aaron: Question regarding emails from BC to Treepl: Has anyone had any experience moving BC emails to Treepl?
Any issues, downtime or anything else I should be made aware of?
I’ve been moving most of my BC clients to another provider (i.e. GSUITE, o365), but I have one client that need to make sure they have no impact in service…so going to try the BC to Treepl email thing.
@adam: I’ve done a few and in general, it’s quite seamless and zero interruptions since the service isn’t actually being moved.
However, the initial emailing BC support and OpenSRS has been annoying… they seem to change the process each time and it can take a while.
@aaron: @adam thanks man for the info… I take it you didn’t have to update incoming IMAP and outgoing SMTP at all? (although I have read somewhere that after EOL, IMAP/STMP urls will need to be updated)
@adam: But I’ve found you can ‘move’ the email hosting to Treepl ahead of actually taking the site live so you can get that going before hand.
@aaron: right, cool…ya, building in Beta first so that works out well then
@adam: Correct, no incoming/outgoing changes needed yet - until EOL or near to (hopefully).
@alex.n: And when you make changes to in/out server - it’s still the same server, so there is no downtime.
Also, transfer will be simplified soon - we’re only waiting for BC…
@adam: So it won’t be soon then…
@aaron: @adam so you mentioned you are able to move emails from BC to Treepl while in Trial Mode - do you know if the Trial sites needs to be a paid trial site?
@adam: The ones I’ve done so far I hadn’t needed to pay for first. But technically, and in the future, it would need to be so you’re paying for the email service. But I think at this stage it’s not all figured out yet and tied to billing, etc so Treepl are being flexible here.
@aaron: Well noted - thanks so much for the info Adam!
