IDEA: WYSIWYG editor module insertions link back to module/module item

I’m not sure this is ready from prime-time. It’s just an idea that I had and I thought it warranted some discussion.

What if the module insertion tags in the WYSIWYG editor linked back to the module/module item.

Is that a good idea or a bad idea? My thought is that a client could follow a link back to the source module/item when they see a module insertion in a page. That way, for example, if they see a snippet, then they could jump into that snippet form the page it’s inserted on.

The flip side of this is that we can kind of ‘hide’ things by using snippets and modules to put them out of the way.

Thoughts?

Interesting idea!
For the most part I think that would be a useful feature.
The only time I can think where it wouldn’t be is if you’ve ‘hidden away’ content in snippets/includes/modules because you don’t want the client accessing it. Particularly if that content has been restricted from the admin user (via Roles or Menu config).
Perhaps such a feature could also detect the admin role/restrictions and create the links accordingly?

But overall, a great idea that would make finding content much easier.
