MIGRATING TO GA4 FROM A GOOGLE ANALYTICS UA PROPERTY - Service Account key file

Please can you advise, I am Migrating an existing webiste analytics from UA to GA4. I have followed all the instructions,(Set Up Analytics) which have been great, but stuck at the very last step.
On my website, I have

  • changed the setting from UA to GA4,
  • added new Measurement ID and added the new Property ID.
But I do not have a new Service Account Key file to upload.
Please can you confirm how I can get another copy of this from Google. I would have had the json file when I first created the site, but do not have this anymore.
    thank you

Hi @Dawn
You’ll need to create a new Service Account Key JSON file.
This is done in the Google Cloud Console (where you manage the APIs).
So, once in the appropriate account, go to “Credentials” and click to edit the ‘Service Account’:

Then go to the “KEYS” tab and click “ADD KEY” > “Create new key”, selecting the JSON option.

This should give you a new JSON key.

NOTE:
In cases where I’ve had to create a new key file, after updating Treepl admin, the analytics dashboard will show errors on most of the charts, but this seems to clear in around 24 hrs.

I think the new key just takes time to activate/connect. But it should work after a while.

Hi Adam

Thank you so much for your help, that has fixed it.
Best wisehs
Dawn
